At Burgin Drapery
Workroom, we have been
serving the greater Des
Moines area and the entire
state of Iowa for over 30
years. Forrest Burgin
purchased the space for our
first location in June 1978
at 520 Clifton Avenue, Des
Moines. He was joined by his
sons, Buzz in 1981 and Jay
in 1988. We have grown
steadily over the years and
now employ 14 people at our
present location, 1433 E.
Grand Avenue in Des Moines.
We continue today the
tradition of working closely
with our clients, which has
put us in thousands of homes
over the years. Our
consultations begin with
appointments at our showroom
or in-home visits.
Professional designers, Ann
Van Dyke and Kari Burgin,
will assist you in deciding
on your style, color and
fabric choices, as well as
doing measurements. There
are over 10,000 fabric
choices along with a large
selection of trim and
fringe. Our professional
workroom staff has the
experience and desire to
make sure your custom
draperies, bedspreads,
tablecloths, bench cushions
and more, meet and often
exceed your expectations.
Also, over the years, we
have established ourselves
as the choice for commercial
clients. We have enjoyed the
opportunity to to work with
businesses as far away as
Chicago, St. Louis and
Florida. In Des Moines you
can find our draperies hung
in the Iowa State Capitol
Building and Des Moines
Federal Buildings. We even
made special draperies for
the filming of "The Bridges
of Madison County."
We stand behind the work we
do and look forward to
continuing to serve the
needs of homeowners and
businesses alike. For more
information, please
