Burgin Drapery Workroom & Blinds has been serving the Greater Des Moines area and all of Iowa for over 45 years. In June 1978, Forrest Burgin purchased the space for our first location at 520 Clifton Avenue, Des Moines. His sons Buzz and Jay joined him in 1981 and 1988, respectively.


Our company has grown steadily over the years and now employs 14 people at its current address, 1433 East Grand Avenue in Des Moines. Over the years, we have had the privilege of working closely with thousands of customers, which has led us to be in thousands of homes.

Work With a Professional Designer

An appointment at our showroom or an in-home consultation is the first step in our consultation process. Denise is a professional designer who will assist you in choosing a style, color, and fabric, as well as taking measurements. A wide selection of trims and fringes is available along with more than 10,000 fabric choices. You can rely on our professional workroom staff to meet and often exceed your expectations when it comes to custom draperies, bedspreads, tablecloths, bench cushions, and more.

The Preferred Choice for Commercial Customers

We have established ourselves as the preferred choice for commercial customers over the years. In the past, we have had the pleasure of working with companies as far away as Chicago, St. Louis, and Florida. It is possible to find our draperies hung in the Iowa State Capitol Building and the Des Moines Federal Building in Des Moines. We even provided draperies for the filming of "The Bridges of Madison County." We stand behind our work and look forward to continuing to assist homeowners and businesses.
